Movement has always been an important part of my life from working as a Pilates and exercise instructor to my background as a dancer and dance educator. While recovering from my own dance injury, I realized the importance of rehabilitating the body as a whole and looking at movement as an integrated approach to recovery.  During my orthopedic residency at Mass General, I conducted medical research on Pilates-based protocols for individuals with EDS and hypermobility. This work deepened my commitment to supporting the hypermobility community through evidence-informed physical therapy and safe, effective movement.

As I began treating more patients with hypermobility, I recognized that traditional rehabilitation approaches did not always address the full complexity of their movement experience. Many patients needed more than strengthening alone. They needed to develop body awareness, improve movement control, build tolerance to activity, and regain confidence in their bodies while reducing the risk of recurrent pain and injury.

My goal is to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and meaningful movement—helping patients progress from managing symptoms and rebuilding physical capacity to moving with greater confidence, control, and ease. I believe that effective rehabilitation should not only help the body recover, but also create a better movement experience that patients can carry into everyday life.

Cecily Rosen

Cecily Wardell Rosen

Co-Founder | Senior Pilates Instructor & Hypermobility Specialist

I am a hypermobility movement expert whose work lives at the intersection of mind and movement. I specialize in helping people with hypermobility, EDS, POTS, and other chronic illnesses understand how their bodies move and what they need to move well. A Harvard and Duke-educated Health & Wellness coach and Pilates instructor, I was diagnosed with POTS in 2002 and hEDS in 2008, and I bring both professional training and lived experience to this work.

Hypermobile bodies move differently. Joints that travel past a stable range, limited feedback about where the body is in space, and unpredictable pain and fatigue can erode trust in the body and lead to cycles of overdoing and avoidance. I teach clients to sense where they are in space, find control within a safe range, and build strength and stamina gradually. Pilates is one of my primary tools within the MotionMindFlow approach.

My goal is to help clients move from managing their bodies with caution to living in them with confidence. I believe that when mind and movement are trained together, people gain more than strength: they gain the ability to find joy and stay active in the lives they want to lead. Prior to MotionMindFlow, I founded a nature-based school and worked in daily operations for more than a decade.

Our Story

Our story begins in 2023. (Cecily) found an exciting class called Pilates for Hypermobile Dancers, taught by Dana. I was immediately hooked and couldn’t get enough of her approach to movement, injury prevention, and overall wellness. Too soon, I “graduated” from PT with Dana, but we knew instinctively that we would stay in each other's lives.

Several months later, over a good cup of coffee, we realized that where hospital-based PT ends is a massive void for further movement help, particularly for a population that can’t always go to gym or group classes. We shared a joint aha moment of the mind-body connection when it comes to EDS and hypermobility - movement is enhanced by mindful awareness, and wellness is enhanced by safe, effective movement.

And so MotionMindFlow was born - from the firm belief that motion and mind need to flow together. The name came to us in our backyard over a delicious dinner while our children were playing happily :)

Meet Our Instructors

Emily Zeidman

Emily Zeidman

I discovered Pilates during years of navigating chronic pain and the uncertainty of not knowing its cause, an experience that gave me a deep appreciation for how movement supports both physical and mental well-being. I am a certified Pilates Mat Instructor continuing my Reformer and comprehensive Pilates education, with particular interests in hypermobility, chronic pain, and prenatal/postpartum movement. I build my classes around mindful movement and thoughtful progressions, helping clients build strength, increase body awareness, and develop confidence through consistent, intentional practice. Outside the studio, I serve as an Executive Director of Program Management at an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company, where I'm equally committed to improving outcomes for patients.

I teach Mat and Reformer Pilates and the MELT Method, helping people with hypermobility and persistent pain build strength, stability, and confidence through mindful movement, in both group classes and private sessions. I am a MELT Method Level 5 and Fascia Hydrator Certified Instructor, currently completing my Comprehensive Pilates Certification through Pilates Academy International, and I'm also a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and 500+ Hour Yoga Instructor. With nearly 30 years as an educator and my own experience living with hypermobility, I'm passionate about making movement approachable, empowering, and enjoyable for every body. Whether you're new to Pilates or looking for a more personalized approach, my goal is to help you move with greater ease, resilience, and confidence.

Pilates Instructor | LCSW

I found Pilates after years of navigating recurring injuries and searching for a way to move with less pain and more confidence, and it gave me not only a way to manage those injuries but a deeper connection to my body. My time at MotionMindFlow deepened my understanding of the method and inspired me to become an instructor. I've completed in-depth Mat and Reformer training and am currently working toward my comprehensive Pilates certification, with a particular interest in hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). When I'm not teaching, I work as a social worker, where trauma-informed, client-centered care guides my work — the same values I bring to the studio, creating a space where clients feel safe to explore movement and build lasting confidence.

I've always loved finding ways to move my body, though for much of my life movement felt challenging and inaccessible. After years of persistent pain, fatigue, and unexplained injuries, I was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). When I found MotionMindFlow, everything began to shift — through its compassionate approach to movement and its community, I built not just strength but trust in my body, learning to work with it instead of against it. That shift reframed how I see myself and gave me a deep appreciation for Pilates and its adaptability. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker at a pediatric hospital, and MotionMindFlow's intentional, supportive approach feels like a natural extension of those same values. I am Mat Pilates certified and working toward my Reformer certification. I live in Boston with my husband and our rescue coonhound–blue heeler, Heath.

We are honored to be on this healing journey with you

Our team at MotionMindFlow is dedicated to helping those with EDS and Hypermobility thrive by integrating movement, medicine, and mindset.

The MotionMindFlow Approach is rooted in the belief that meaningful movement begins with connection: to your body, your breath, and your center. Rather than simply teaching your body to perform a movement, we help you feel, sense, and intentionally guide it.

Through guided exercises, breathing strategies, sensory feedback, and individualized cues, you build the awareness that leads to more efficient movement and lasting motor control.
